Editor's Note: I am not and probably not an officer of this or any other government, but I found interesting, with much meaning and emotion the words spoken by Raul Vallejo in his farewell as Minister of Education and on behalf of their peers.

I still remember the first cabinet, days before taking office in January 2007. It was in Punta Centinela and ministers appointed ministers and saw the sea and the sun as a temptation wasted in front of a demanding working method and discipline that began to take shape from the beginning. In night, dinner and songs with the old Napo, the "Gringa loca" and "criminal Crab" and the playful daring move to the musicians and install the singing group that would later be Foolish, foolish in his eagerness to sing like fools have been since then in order to transform inescapable reality of a country ravaged by the powers that be, organized to benefit a few.
What country has changed since then? The country of corporate groups which shared spaces including power as a result of the systematic destruction of the state no longer exists. The country's weak institutions and corrupt governments in check, and pressure groups was established as a parallel government in the history of infamy. The country in which small groups of radicals eager to assume power without legitimacy on behalf of the people and act in a sectarian alliance with oppressors themselves against this process of transformation we are living, will disappear. That country where the financial capital finance ministers put governing bodies and control of banking, in which traders administering customs, in which business associations governing the rules of a chaotic market, is no longer viable but still wallow in throes of dying beast. citizen living a revolution that restores citizenship to citizens what belongs: a State exercising stewardship of the company and applies the law, a public works project designed to service all throughout the country, investment in make health and education the cornerstones of an equitable society, creating conditions for fair profit venture, the spaces for the exercise of responsible freedom of expression. A revolution that comes to those people who were forgotten even by the preachers of fairs.
Ecuador To stay in the past, who are not willing to lose their privileges have resorted to endless maneuvers drenched in hypocrisy. They have twisted the meaning of words until they mean black when said target to be offended. They lied whenever it suited them so that in a moment the explicit defense of life was exposed as its opposite, the equitable distribution of income turned into centralism, or the defense of national sovereignty in alleged complicity with those who maintain an inhuman unethical war. Have tried to ignore what has been done with the sophism that still lacks things to do when we were the first to recognize how much is pending. Have exaggerated the problems in any exercise of government and minimized the accomplishments realize political will to transform society. And after boycotting the citizen's revolution, with all the guarantees of freedom and democracy built on a constitution of rights, then attack it from all possible ways, the legitimate and which are not, the usual chorus leaders have the nerve to talk of tyranny supported by certain media groups converted, modesty of any kind, political actors.
Three years later, the country has changed to the delight of the poorest and tranquility of the middle with a social conscience for those who migrated and those who await the return of their own and become difficult to be the same as before. Because nobody is allowed to rule for which, with each administration, have sought to increase their capital without any ethical constraints, because no one will allow the president to lock themselves in Carondelet back to life, because from all corners of country, the public will demand the physical presence of their leaders, listening to people, institutionalizing dialogue and accountability, but above all, serve the people.
to that change, with simplicity and dedication to service, personal dedication and sacrifices the family of a different nature, which we helped today participated in the alternation of a team of government, as in every life process, has completed a cycle of work in public service. In the endless road of human beings are only temporary and, precisely, that impermanence is what makes us committed action of the Gospel to the poor without paternalism or demagoguery, with a sense of justice and solidarity. Those who quit the government team hope to have fulfilled our civic responsibility to the full depth of action and ethics. We'll be wrong in the execution of certain tasks, no doubt, but our mistakes were in good faith and we left home happy to see, to look clean and our children.
Comrade President: a name which today the government team we want to thank you for the confidence in our technical capacity, administrative honesty in the political consequence, and we thank you also for the opportunity we have had to serve with love. We also wish to express our admiration, beyond to sing, dance, make jokes, be angry at risk of falling into one of the cardinal sins or Emelec, because you are a leader who rules with an example: the first is working and the last to go and rest, travels the country always thinking how to solve the problems that a witness, requires all as claimed himself, is always set in the detail that makes the difference and the country is a dedication to his heart.
We also hope that the camaraderie of staff accompanying the vocation of service of the companions who assume the responsibility that today we have today who we will and we can fall, ultimately, the lure of the sea and sun. Ecuador
A free and sovereign, fair is a dream of all construction for which we have contributed to the extent of our human forces, which continue to struggle with the principles of public revolution.
